Most Holy God, make us—your church—look to the lives of your saints for a shining vision. Bestow your blessing upon Sean, our presiding bishop; Phil, our bishop; and Joseph, our vicar. We pray for the Church of the Province of South East Asia; and the faith communities of Holy Spirit, Battleground; and St. Matthew’s, Castle Rock. We pray also for the congregation of All Saints Goshen, who worships in our building.
God of glory, dwell in us.
Mighty God, make our national and local leaders worthy of their responsibilities. Relieve and strengthen all those who are burdened with anxiety as we choose new leaders from our candidates. Protect all public servants and make them steady in their honesty.
God of glory, dwell in us.
Compassionate God, we ask you to abide with all people across the world who stand in harm’s way.
God of glory, dwell in us.
Loving God, we thank you for this caring community. We belong to you.
God of glory, dwell in us.
Healing Lord, we ask you to walk beside us in our troubles. We ask you to sit beside the sickbeds and hold the hands of those in any trouble. We pray for those who struggle with addiction and recovery, especially the groups that meet in our building. We remember those who have commended themselves to our prayers: Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Will; Janette; Nancy; Sandy; Emily; Chris; Cheryl; Luke; Ava; Sarah; Monica; Tim; Michael; Susy and those we now name, either silently or aloud.
God of glory, dwell in us.
Eternal God, give us faith to see in death the gate of eternal life, so that in quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call, we are reunited with those who have gone before. Today we remember those we now name, either silently or aloud.
God of glory, dwell in us.
Joyful God, we give you thanks for our friends and loved ones, especially those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries this week, including Nancy; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.
God of glory, dwell in us.
Amen.
