O God, we pray for Christ’s disciples throughout the world: Michael, our presiding bishop; Sean, our presiding bishop-elect; Phil, our bishop; Joseph, our vicar; and our Bishop’s Committee. In the Anglican cycle of prayer, we pray for the Anglican Church of Rwanda. In the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, we pray for St. Luke’s, Seattle, and St. Stephen’s, Seattle. We pray also for All Saints Goshen Mission, which meets in our sanctuary.
Holy One, grant us a willingness, to serve the world as Christ did.
Let your protection enfold this nation. Grant us civility in the upcoming election. Guide all three branches of government in your righteousness, and bless our President Joe, and Vice-President Kamala, with your grace and favor.
Holy One, grant us a willingness, to serve the world as Christ did.
We pray for those in any need or trouble. Grant shelter to the homeless, healing to those sick in body or mind, and abundance to those with nothing. Hold close to your heart all those in harm’s way. May your presence, O God, be felt in the Middle East, and may your Holy Spirit comfort those on the Gulf Coast who struggle to rebuild their lives. We bring before you now those who have commended themselves to our prayers: Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Will; Janette; Nancy; Sandy; Emily; Monica; Tim; Michael; Ellie; Mariam; Mandy; Irina; Daniel; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.
Holy One, grant us a willingness, to serve the world as Christ did.
We pray for the repose of the souls recently departed. Bring them and all those who have gone before us into the light of your heavenly kingdom. Today we remember Ellie, and those we now name, either silently or aloud.
Holy One, grant us a willingness, to serve the world as Christ did.
We celebrate with those marking anniversaries and birthdays: Alex; Jane; Loretta & Russell; and those we now name, either silently or aloud. And we offer our unending gratitude for all the blessings of this life.
Holy One, grant us a willingness, to serve the world as Christ did.
Amen.
