October 6: Weekly Prayers

Yahweh who presides over the heavenly beings, we pray for all those who seek after God. We  especially pray for our priest, Joseph; our supply priest, Carola; and our bishop, Phil. In the Anglican  Communion, we pray for The Anglican Church of Papua New Guinea, and in the Diocese of Olympia  for our neighbors at St. Alban’s, Edmonds; and Redeemer, Kenmore.

As for us, we will live with integrity. Redeem us, O Lord, and  have mercy on us.

Elohim, who cares for mortals and crowns them with glory and honor, have mercy on all those in  positions of power and authority. Test them and try them, that they may walk faithfully with you.

As for us, we will live with integrity. Redeem us, O Lord, and  have mercy on us.

Embracing Christ, who gathers children into your arms and blesses them, we pray for the powerless  and suffering in the world. We especially remember the people of Palestine, Lebanon, and Israel, and  every place touched by war.

As for us, we will live with integrity. Redeem us, O Lord, and  have mercy on us.

God of Job, who boasts of your servants, grant the members of this assembly the strength and  wisdom to live according to your ways, blessing the world and one another so that you may also boast  of us.

As for us, we will live with integrity. Redeem us, O Lord, and  have mercy on us.

Sacred Breath and Holy Spirit, we pray for the sick and suffering in our community, for those afflicted  with loathsome sores, and for those who struggle with chronic illness and addiction, especially those  who meet in our building. We also pray for: Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim;  Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Will; Janette; Nancy; Sandy; Emily; Ellie; Mariam; Mandy; Irina; Daniel, and  those we now name, either silently or aloud.

As for us, we will live with integrity. Redeem us, O Lord, and  have mercy on us.

God who tasted death for everyone, we pray for those who have died. May they go in procession  round your altar, singing songs of thanksgiving until we see them again. We especially pray for those  we now name, either silently or aloud.

As for us, we will live with integrity. Redeem us, O Lord, and  have mercy on us.

Holy Trinity, you bring your children into glory. We pray for those celebrating birthdays and  anniversaries. We give thanks for the example of lifelong service in former-president Jimmy Carter’s  first century. In our community we especially pray for Sam; Tom; Loretta; Griffey; and those we now  name, either silently or aloud.

As for us, we will live with integrity. Redeem us, O Lord, and  have mercy on us.

Amen.
