September 22: Weekly Prayers

Holy Spirit, we entrust your church, its leaders, and all faithful people to your love and guidance.

Loving God, we welcome you.

We pray for our bishops, priests, and deacons, including Michael, Sean, Phil, Joseph, Carola, and all  who minister in your name. Today we thank you especially for our Diocesan Council, Board of Directors, and Standing Committee. We also ask your blessings on the Church of North India (United),  and the congregation of All Saints Goshen.

Loving God, we welcome you.

We pray for refugees and migrants seeking to live, work, and worship without fear.

Loving God, we welcome you.

We pray for wisdom among our nation’s leaders and for renewal in our cities, schools, homes, and  work places.

Loving God, we welcome you.

We pray for your help as we deal with a rapidly changing and sometimes scary world. As we debate  our common future, guide us to speak and act with humility and justice.

Loving God, we welcome you.

Help us as we strive to serve humbly those who are sick, tired, unemployed, heartbroken, hungry, unhoused, lonely, or afraid. In our hearts today, we remember the recovery groups who meet in this  building.

Loving God, we welcome you.

We pray for our friends, family, and neighbors who are especially in need of your healing grace,  including: Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Will;  Janette; Nancy; Sandy; Emily; Mariam; Mandy; Loretta; Irina; Daniel, Kary, Natalie, and their family;  Michael; Tim; Deb; Dave; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Loving God, we welcome you.

By the power of your love, guide leaders of every country to act with integrity and compassion.

Loving God, we welcome you.

Wrap those who have died in your eternal light, and shine upon those who grieve. Today we  remember the lives of Laura; Steve; Nancy; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Loving God, we welcome you.

We give you thanks, Wondrous God, for the ministries of Sam and Mary Magill and for their stalwart  stewardship over many years in our church. Hold them in your hands as they move to Olympia.

Loving God, we welcome you.

Hold also in your hands those who are celebrating birthdays and anniversaries this week, including: Kim; Pam; Ian; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Loving God, we welcome you.

For your grace and forgiveness, we are always grateful, and we praise you for your magnificent  creation. Help us to care for the world as you care for us.
