June 9: Weekly Prayers

We pray for the church, O God. In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the Province of the  Anglican Church of the Congo. In the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, we pray for our own faith community  of St. Hilda St. Patrick, Edmonds; and we acknowledge that we reside on the ancestral lands of the  Coast Salish Peoples.

God of all who do your will, make us one family.

We pray for those who serve the church: our Presiding Bishop, Michael; newly elected ninth bishop  Philip; Bishops Melissa and Brian; our Vicar, Father Joseph; and our Youth Group and Bishop’s  Committee.

God of all who do your will, make us one family.

We pray for all who govern and hold authority in the nations of the world: for our President, our state  and congressional representatives, the Supreme Court, and the United Nations.

God of all who do your will, make us one family.

We pray for those in any need or trouble; for the unhoused and underemployed; for the starving in  Gaza; for asylum seekers; and for all those whose lives have been destroyed by natural disasters and  military aggression; for all who struggle with addiction and recovery, especially those who meet in our  building. We pray for all who have commended themselves to our prayers: John; Charles; Emilio; Ian;  Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Will; Janette; and those persons  and petitions we now name, either silently or aloud.

God of all who do your will, make us one family.

We pray for the departed: for the monastic St. Columba of Iona; for Robert; and for those we now  name, either silently or aloud.

God of all who do your will, make us one family.

We are grateful for those celebrating birthdays or anniversaries: Charlie; Lennox; Lupin; Dawn &  Kerry; and those we now name, either silently or aloud. [pause] We are mindful, O God, of the many  blessings of this life, especially those we now name, either silently or aloud.

God of all who do your will, make us one family.

Amen.
