March 3: Weekly Prayers

God who raises us up, we pray in confidence for Christ’s church throughout the world.

God whose son Jesus taught us to live in community, we pray in confidence for St. Hilda St. Patrick; for  our vicar, Joseph; for our bishop’s committee; and for our youth group.

God who shepherds us, we pray in confidence for our bishops, Melissa and Brian; and for our  presiding bishop, Michael.

God who guides us, we pray in confidence that your Holy Spirit will lead our selection of a new bishop  for the Diocese of Olympia.

God who fulfills promises made to us, we pray in confidence for these churches in our diocese: Christ  Church, Anacortes; and St. Paul, Bellingham. In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we remember the Church  of the Province of Uganda.

God who lends power, we pray in confidence for the United States of America; our President; our Vice  President; Congress; and the Supreme Court; that wisdom and mercy may direct them.

God who gives life, we pray in confidence for peace and prosperity in all the world, and for the United  Nations’ work for justice.

God who protects life, we pray in confidence for the safety of refugees and asylum seekers around  the globe.

God who tenders reconciliation, we offer special intentions for homelands and cities in the throes of  violence: for Gaza; Ukraine; and Kansas City.

God who parents and supports us, we pray in confidence for our Mother Earth, that we may honor  and care for her.

God who gives us other souls to love, we pray in confidence for Snohomish County; for the outreach  ministry of Neighbors in Need and those they serve—the homeless; addicted; and unemployed; and  for those persons or situation we now bring to mind.

God who is present with us always, we pray in confidence for those who have commended  themselves to our prayers: Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne;  Karen; Rosemary; Joseph, Brandon, and their family; Adele; Andrea; Marcus; Izzy and his family;  Kerry; Kathleen; Rhonda; JoAnn; Connie; and those we now bring to mind.

God who knew us from before all time, we pray in confidence for the repose of the souls who have  departed this life to join the ancestors; for your servants John and Charles Wesley—the Anglican  priests who founded the Methodist movement; for Russian martyr Alexei Navalny; and for those we  now bring to mind.

God who rejoices with us, we give thanks in confidence for all the blessings of this life, and for those  celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, especially Tyson; Alex; and those we now bring to mind.

Amen.
