February 4: Weekly Prayers

Gracious God, give strength to all your people as they work and witness in your world. Hear our  prayers for Michael; Melissa; Brian; Joseph; and for all our church ministries. We pray also for All  Saints Goshen; Ascension, Seattle; Epiphany, Seattle; St. Clement of Rome, Seattle; and for the  Anglican Church of South America.

God of healing, gather us in, and lift us up.

Guide leaders who govern and judge in every nation to do so with humility, respect, and a yearning  for justice. Our thoughts today are especially with the people and leaders of Israel, Gaza, Ukraine,  Russia, and all areas experiencing armed conflict.

God of healing, gather us in, and lift us up.

Many of us are hungry, thirsty, angry, confused, ill, and powerless. Addiction, depression, and anxiety  threaten so many lives. We pray for everyone who is struggling, and also for the recovery groups who  meet in our church. Grant us enduring faith as we strive against oppression and despair in our  communities.

God of healing, gather us in, and lift us up.

Many of our friends, families, and neighbors are especially in need of your tender mercies and grace  today, including Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen;  Kerry; Kathleen; Rhonda; JoAnn; Connie; Helen, Mariam, and their family; Hannah; Deborah, Dona,  and their family; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

God of healing, gather us in, and lift us up.

Help us to fight the enduring evils we face every day, including inequality, poverty, homelessness, and  environmental degradation. Your light guides and sustains us as we struggle to meet the needs of all  your people.

God of healing, gather us in, and lift us up.

We pray for loved ones we have lost from our lives on earth into your loving embrace. Bless those who miss them. Today, we remember especially those we now name, either silently or aloud.

God of healing, gather us in, and lift us up.

Bless all those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries this week, including Mary; Rich; and those we  now name, either silently or aloud.

God of healing, gather us in, and lift us up.

We thank you for renewing our strength, refreshing our spirits, and bringing new life and new light to  our lives and to the world.

God of healing, gather us in, and lift us up.

Amen.
