November 12: Weekly Prayers

O God, we pray for your people in every place. Bless Michael, our presiding bishop; Melissa and Brian,  our bishops; Joseph, our vicar; and the person who will become the next bishop of Olympia. We pray  for the Anglican Church of Mozambique and Angola; and for the faith communities of Christ Church,  Seattle, and St. Andrew’s, Seattle. In your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for justice and peace among all people. In your mercy, hear our prayer.

We ask for good weather, abundant fruits of the earth, and peaceful times. We pray for those who  travel, that they may return safely home. In your mercy, hear our prayer.

We ask your blessing upon our city and those who live in it. We pray for our families, companions, and  all those we love. Bless the groups that use our building, including those who struggle with addiction  and recovery, and the congregation of All Saints Goshen. In your mercy, hear our prayer.

We ask your protection for all those in danger or in need: the sick; the suffering; prisoners; captives  and their families; the hungry; the homeless; and the oppressed. We lift up to you, O God, those who  have commended themselves to our prayers: Liddy; Hannah; Rhonda and her family; Elliott; Christine;  Sandy and her family; Celia and her family; Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim; Richard;  Suzanne; Karen; and those we now name, either silently or aloud. In your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for those who rest in Christ and for all the dead. We remember especially Detlef; and those  we now name, either silently or aloud. In your mercy, hear our prayer.

We ask for deliverance from all affliction, strife, and need. In your mercy, hear our prayer.

We give thanks for those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries this week, including Jim; Kerry;  Andrea & Tom; and those we now name, either silently or aloud. In your mercy, hear our prayer.

Amen.

This week’s prayers are based on the Deacon Ormonde Plater Archived Documents.
