March 23: Weekly Prayers

O God, you are our God. Eagerly we seek you. Our souls thirst for you, our flesh faints for you, as in a  parched and barren land. Refresh your church. Revive your church with living water Bless, we pray,  our presiding bishop, Sean; our bishop, Phil; and our priest, Joseph. We pray for the Anglican Church  in Central America; and for the faith communities of Ascension and Epiphany in Seattle.

Faithful God, be the comfort and strength of innocent victims and their families. We pray for all those  who die suddenly and unprepared.

Great Mountain God, open our eyes to your presence in the world around us. Set the fire of your  presence before us and lead our feet to holy ground.

We pray, O God, for victims of sexual violence and abuse. Deliver them. Heal their wounds and scars.  Restore innocence and the ability to trust. Purify our own hearts that we may honor and respect each  other.

O God, you are our helper. You hide us under the mighty shadow of your wings. Defend your children  from all adversities which may happen to the body or soul. We pray for all who struggle with  addiction and recovery, especially the groups who meet in our building; and for those who have  commended themselves to our prayers: Maria; Jen; Holly & Nate; Bill; Jeff; Alex; Vicki; Kathy; Tracey;  Daniel; Dawn; Abby; Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Nancy;  Sandy; Emily; Helen; Verne; Tim; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, God of our fathers and mothers, feed us with spiritual food.  Refresh us with spiritual drink. Preserve us with Hilda, Patrick, and all your saints, forever. We  remember those who have died, especially the newborn Boy Bamber-Fleming; as well as Dan; Britany;  Liam; Angela; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Generous God, we give thanks for the friends celebrating birthdays and anniversaries this week,  especially Stephen; Todd; Leslie; Philip & Florella; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Amen.
