February 2: Weekly Prayers

Almighty God, we thank you for your light and the spirit of Jesus. We pray for your church and all who  serve you including Sean, our Presiding Bishop; Phil, our bishop; and Joseph, our vicar. Bless the  Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand, and Polynesia. In our diocese we pray for Misa Guadalupe,  Renton; and St. John’s Sudanese, Tukwila. Bless the congregation of All Saints Goshen, who worships  in our building.

Holy Spirit, rest upon us.

Sovereign God, bless your servants everywhere. We lift up the St. Hilda St. Patrick congregation as we  worship you and support each other. Guide our participation and decisions in the annual meeting.

Holy Spirit, rest upon us.

Dear Jesus, we pray for our country and the world. Help us in our unbelief. Give us hope, strength,  and encouragement. Let justice reign.

Holy Spirit, rest upon us.

Great healer, help us grasp and retain your peace. Ease the suffering of vulnerable and oppressed  people in our communities. We pray for those who suffer and those in any trouble, and those who  struggle with addiction and recovery, especially those who meet in our building.

Holy Spirit, rest upon us.

True redeemer, nourish our works of faith. Help us find joy and beauty in our lives. Help us to stay  centered in you and adapt to challenges in life, school, and work.

Holy Spirit, rest upon us.

Dear Jesus, we pray for those who have commended themselves to our prayers: Emilio; Ian; Barbara;  Christine; Sue; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Nancy; Sandy; Emily; Helen; Verne; Tim; Alex;  Vicky; Alec; Aria; Dale; Rick; Troy; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Holy Spirit, rest upon us.

Almighty God, we thank you for the many celebrations of our lives. We are grateful for those friends  and loved ones with birthdays and anniversaries this week, especially those we now name, either  silently or aloud.

Holy Spirit, rest upon us.

Lord, we pray for those who have passed on before us. Surround them in your love and comfort us as  we grieve their absence. We pray especially for Giles; and those we now name, either silently or  aloud.

Holy Spirit, rest upon us.

Amen.
