January 5: Weekly Prayers

With the intentions of the faithful throughout your Holy Church, O God, we pray for Sean our  presiding bishop, Philip our bishop, and Joseph our vicar. Give grace and stamina to all deacons, lay  leaders, and all who serve Christ’s Church throughout the world. 

For the Light of the World, we give thanks to you, O God. May the Light of Christ shine in us.

In the Anglican cycle of prayer, we pray for The Church in Wales. In the diocesan cycle of prayer, we  pray for All Saints’, Bellevue; Holy Apostles, Bellevue; and Good Samaritan, Sammamish. We give  thanks for our Anglican neighbors in All Saints Goshen Mission who share this building.

For the Light of the World, we give thanks to you, O God. May the Light of Christ shine in us.

We pray for the United States of America: For Joe our president; Kamala our vice-president; and the  three branches of our democratic government. We pray also for the incoming administration that  peace, justice, and integrity may be sought and upheld. 

For the Light of the World, we give thanks to you, O God. May the Light of Christ shine in us.

We pray for our legislature in Olympia, all local governments, and all those who serve the public.

For the Light of the World, we give thanks to you, O God. May the Light of Christ shine in us.

We pray for all nations, tribes, and cultures, especially those in Eastern Europe and the Middle East,  struggling to find their place in a more peaceful world. 

For the Light of the World, we give thanks to you, O God. May the Light of Christ shine in us.

We give thanks for the Sovereign Nation of Snohomish Tribe of Indians and their ancestral land on  which we reside.

For the Light of the World, we give thanks to you, O God. May the Light of Christ shine in us.

Grant us reverence, O God, for our Mother Earth, and make us mindful of the just and proper use of  your creation.

For the Light of the World, we give thanks to you, O God. May the Light of Christ shine in us.

We offer healing intentions for those who have commended themselves to our prayers: Emilio; Ian;  Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Nancy; Sandy; Emily; Helen;  Verne; Tim; Amy; Larry; Ron; Colin; Sophia; Charlie; Tom; Kim and her family; Jessica; James; Lela; and  those we now name, either silently or aloud. 

For the Light of the World, we give thanks to you, O God. May the Light of Christ shine in us.

We petition you, O God, for your divine intervention of behalf of the homeless, refugees, the  unemployed, and those struggling with addiction, especially AA District 24 whose groups meet in this  church. 

For the Light of the World, we give thanks to you, O God. May the Light of Christ shine in us.

We pray for those who have died, especially Guy; Michael; President Jimmy Carter; and those we now  name, either silently or aloud. May light perpetual shine upon them. Grant the grace and  consolation of your Holy Spirit to comfort those whom the departed have left behind. And when the  time comes, gather us with all the saints and ancestors into one flock. 

For the Light of the World, we give thanks to you, O God. May the Light of Christ shine in us.

We rejoice with those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, especially Philip; Vivek; Josie; and  those we now name, either silently or aloud. [pause] We thank you, O God, for all the bounty and  blessings of our lives.

We lift our prayers for those things unspoken which now come to mind. We offer our intentions  either silently or aloud.
