September 1: Weekly Prayers

O God, we pray for this holy gathering and for your people in every place. We ask your blessing upon  Michael, our presiding bishop; Sean, our presiding bishop-elect; Melissa, our bishop provisional; Phil,  our bishop-elect; and Joseph, our vicar. We lift up to you the Anglican Church of Mozambique and  Angola; and the faith communities of Underhill House, Seattle; the Center for Spiritual Development;  and St. James Family Center, Cathlamet. We pray also for the congregation of All Saints Goshen, who  worships in our building.

In your mercy, O God. Hear our prayer.

For mercy, peace, and justice among all peoples.

In your mercy, O God. Hear our prayer.

For students and teachers, and all those returning to their studies.

In your mercy, O God. Hear our prayer.

For workers and their organizations, and for those who employ and manage them.

In your mercy, O God. Hear our prayer.

For farmers and abundant fruits of the earth, and for safety from violent storms.

In your mercy, O God. Hear our prayer.

For the sick and the suffering, orphans and widows, prisoners, captives, and their families, and all  those in distress. We pray for those who have commended themselves to our prayers: Daniel, Kary,  Natalie, and their family; Michael; Tim; Deb; Dave; John; Bill & Bridget; Carol; Debbie; Emilio; Ian;  Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Will; Janette; Nancy; Sandy; Emily; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

In your mercy, O God. Hear our prayer.

For our city and those who live in it, and for our families, companions, and all those we love. We pray  especially for those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries this week: Mika; Chris & Valerie; and  those we now name, either silently or aloud.

In your mercy, O God. Hear our prayer.

For those who rest in Christ and for all the dead, especially Laura; Steve; Nancy; and those we now  name, either silently or aloud.

In your mercy, O God. Hear our prayer.

Lifting our voices with all creation, with Hilda, Patrick, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and all the saints, we offer ourselves and one another to you, our living God, through Christ.

In your mercy, O God. Hear our prayer.

Amen.
