August 11: Weekly Prayers

Merciful God, we pray for the unity of your Holy Church and for all who serve you. In the Anglican  Cycle of Prayer, we remember The Anglican Church of Korea. In the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, we  remember Episcopal Retirement Communities, Episcopal Mission to Seafarers, and Seattle Service  Corps. We pray for Michael, our presiding bishop; Sean, our Presiding Bishop-elect; Melissa our  Bishop Provisional, and Phil our Bishop-Elect. We pray for Joseph, our Vicar; Kerry our Junior Warden;  and Valerie, our Senior Warden. May they be blessed with the strength that comes from you alone.

In your mercy, O God, hear our prayer.

Holy God, we pray for all who have received the mantle of governance throughout the world. We ask  your blessing for our President, Joe; our Vice President, Kamala; and our Governor, Jay. May your  grace guide our upcoming presidential election, and may your truth direct our Congress and courts.  May the Spirit of Wisdom guide all in positions of authority.

In your mercy, O God, hear our prayer.

Compassionate God: We pray for those in need of hope and healing, especially the immigrants on  every shore; the indigent and addicted; the survivors of war and aggression; the students of Scriber  Lake Alternative High School; and those who have commended themselves to our prayers: Emilio; Ian;  Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Will; Janette; Nancy; Sandy; Alec;  June; Maggie; Cynthia; Emily; Everett; Michael and his family; Becky; Nick, Carol, and their family; and  those we now name, either silently or aloud. May the salvation of the Risen Christ be  available to all in need.

In your mercy, O God, hear our prayer.

Eternal God, grant everlasting peace to the departed, especially Laura; Steve; Nancy; John; and those  we now name, either silently or aloud. [pause] Grant us also, when the time comes, to find our place  among the ancestors. May light perpetual shine upon the Communion of Saints.

In your mercy, O God, hear our prayer.

We offer you humble and hearty thanks for all the blessings of our lives, especially the friends celebrating birthdays or anniversaries: Charles; Kristen; and those we now name, either  silently or aloud. May the abundance of your love fill our hearts.

In your mercy, O God, hear our prayer.

Amen.
