July 28: Weekly Prayers

Lord who looks down from heaven upon us all, we pray for all those who seek after God. We  especially pray for our priest, Joseph; our supply priest Carola; Melissa, our Bishop Provisional; Phil,  our bishop-elect; Michael, our presiding Bishop; and Sean, our presiding Bishop-elect. In the Anglican  Communion, we pray for The Episcopal Church in Jerusalem & The Middle East, and in the Diocese of  Olympia for St. David of Wales, Shelton; and Chaplains on the Harbor, Westport. We pray also for the congregation of All Saints Goshen, who worships in our building.

Christ, whose love surpasses all knowledge, fill us with the fullness of God.

God of David who sees the sins of the mighty and knows their shame, have mercy on all those in  positions of authority. Open their ears to the words of the prophets, do not let them forget the limits  of their humanity and the cost of their unchecked greed.

Christ, whose love surpasses all knowledge, fill us with the fullness of God.

Holy Spirit, who feeds five thousand with your multiplicative blessing, feed the hungry and soothe the  suffering around the world. We especially remember the people of Palestine, and every place touched  by war.

Christ, whose love surpasses all knowledge, fill us with the fullness of God.

God who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can  ask or imagine, we pray for this church, those who call this place home and those who are just passing  through. We ask for the power to comprehend, with all the saints, the breadth and length and height  and depth of your love. May our words and actions spread that love unto all the world.

Christ, whose love surpasses all knowledge, fill us with the fullness of God.

Christ whose signs of what you do for the sick draw crowds to the wilderness, we pray for all the sick  and suffering of our community, and for those who struggle with addiction and recovery, especially  those who meet in our building. As when you walked upon the sea in the midst of the storm, remind  your followers not to be afraid. We especially pray for Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles;  Denice; Jim; Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Will; Janette; Nancy; Sandy; Everett; Michael and his family;  Becky; Nick, Carol, and their family; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Christ, whose love surpasses all knowledge, fill us with the fullness of God.

God who is in the company of the righteous, we pray for those who have died. We especially pray for Laura; Steve; Nancy; John; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Christ, whose love surpasses all knowledge, fill us with the fullness of God.

Spirit who restores the fortunes of the people, we pray for those celebrating birthdays and  anniversaries. We especially pray for Alex & Anne; Jeff; and those we now name, either silently or  aloud.

Christ, whose love surpasses all knowledge, fill us with the fullness of God.

Amen.
