June 2: Weekly Prayers

God who calls your servants, we pray for our priest, Joseph; our Bishops, Melissa and Brian; Phil, our  Bishop-Elect; and Michael, our presiding Bishop. In the Anglican Communion, we pray for the Anglican  Church of Central America. In the Diocese of Olympia, we pray for St. Aiden’s, Camano Island; and  Transfiguration, Darrington.

Lord of the sabbath, speak, your servants are listening.

Teaching Christ, who is grieved and angered by hardness of heart, we pray for all those in authority,  especially members of government. Remind them that the law is made for humankind, and not  humankind for the law.

Lord of the sabbath, speak, your servants are listening.

Mothering Spirit, who knits together each person in the womb, we pray for the suffering world,  especially all who are displaced by war and those who live under the constant threat of harm and loss.  Press upon them, behind and before. Lay your hand upon them.

Lord of the sabbath, speak, your servants are listening.

Jesus, who is made visible in our mortal flesh, we pray for all of the members of this church. Fill our  clay jars with your treasure. Though we may be afflicted, perplexed, persecuted, and struck down,  help us to live through the life of Christ. Not crushed, not despairing, not forsaken, not destroyed, but  loved.

Lord of the sabbath, speak, your servants are listening.

Divine Physician, who cured on the sabbath, we pray for all whose minds and bodies need your  healing touch. We pray for those who struggle with addiction and recovery, especially those who  meet in our building. We especially pray for Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim;  Richard; Suzanne; Karen; Will; Janette; Charles; Martha; Ellie; Josh; Nancy; Cynthia; Rhya; and those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Lord of the sabbath, speak, your servants are listening.

God who searches us out and knows us, we pray for all who have died and all who miss them. We  especially pray for Robert; Steve; Willie; Derek; Melanie; Gretchen; and those we now name, either  silently or aloud.

Lord of the sabbath, speak, your servants are listening.

Creator who marvelously makes every body and soul, we rejoice in the celebrations of birthdays and  anniversaries of those we hold dear. We especially pray for Clover; Logan; Dean; Keri & Stephen; and  those we now name, either silently or aloud.

Lord of the sabbath, speak, your servants are listening.

Amen.
