May 21: Weekly Prayers

Father, we pray for your holy Catholic Church, that we may all be one. Hear us, O God, for your mercy is great.

Grant that every member of the church may truly and humbly serve you, that your name may be  glorified by all people. We pray for the Church in the Province of the West Indies, and for the faith  communities of St. Bede’s, Port Orchard; St. Paul’s, Port Townsend; and St. Luke’s, Sequim. Hear us, O God, for your mercy is great.

We pray for all bishops, priests, and deacons, that they may be faithful ministers of your Word and  Sacraments. We pray especially for our presiding bishop, Michael; our bishop provisional, Melissa;  and our priest, Joseph. Hear us, O God, for your mercy is great.

We pray for all who govern and hold authority in the nations of the world, that there may be justice  and peace on the earth.  Hear us, O God, for your mercy is great.

Give us grace to do your will in all that we undertake, that our works may find favor in your sight. Hear us, O God, for your mercy is great.

Have compassion on those who suffer from any grief or trouble, that they may be delivered from their  distress. Bless those who struggle with addiction and recovery, especially those who meet in our  building. We pray for our own needs, and for the concerns of those who have commended  themselves to our prayers: Emilio; Ian; Barbara; Christine; Sue; Giles; Denice; Jim; Richard; Amy; Monica and her family; Karen; Kevin; Lisa; Ty; Rhonda; Emily; and those we now name, either silently  or aloud. Hear us, O God, for your mercy is great.

Give to the departed eternal rest. Let light perpetual shine upon them. We pray especially for Ted;  Dolores; and those we now name, either silently or aloud. Hear us, O God, for your mercy is great.

We praise you for your saints who have entered into joy. May we also come to share in your heavenly  kingdom.  Hear us, O God, for your mercy is great.

We thank you for the friends celebrating birthdays and anniversaries this week, especially Aria; and those we now name, either silently or aloud. Hear us, O God, for your mercy is great.

AMEN.
